Growing Green Onions

I saw a woman online who grew her own green onions in a mason jar and she never had to buy them again. So I tried it out and came to find that it works! All you have to do is take some green onions that you buy from the store and place them in a jar with some water. I only had one green onion on hand when I did this, and I wish I would have taken a before and after picture because it has changed quite a bit. My green onion only had one shoot coming out of it when I started and now it has four, plus I have snipped and used two others in my cooking. It's just an easy way to save some money, and I now always have fresh green onion.  I just have to change out the water every once in a while.

And that's my basil plant next to it. Mmmm.. I love basil!
